FORKARDT INTERNATIONAL

	It all started when Paul Forkardt put an idea into action.
		Paul Forkardt, then working as an engineer, obtained the patent no. 365241 on 10th August for his invention of the wedge block chuck.
		On 3rd Febuary Paul Forkardt founded the Paul Forkardt Company in Duesseldorf. The Companys' main purpose: solving of problems in workholding technology and to offer a qualified chucking program to the markets.
		Certified, licensed manufacturers were retained to produce FORKARDT chucks. With this unconventional method, a cooperating network is soon established with the common goal of achieving highest efficiency and flexibility. A form of organization, that is still beneficial to FORKARDT and its customers today. All patents prior to 1924 led to the architypical FORKARDT-chuck of the time, which was known as U-type. Until 1947 it was the core product of FORKARDTs' standard sales programme.
