FORKARDT INTERNATIONAL is one of the oldest and most experienced suppliers of workholding equipment in the world. Paul Forkardt started the Company in 1923 by founding FORKARDT GmbH in Duesseldorf, Germany. Ever since, FORKARDT has been one of the industry's leading innovators. For example, FORKARDT pioneering ideas include the use of centrifugal force compensation and automatic chuck lubrication. FORKARDT also developed the first commercially acceptable design for indexing chucks, the first viable energy sources for high-performance power chucking systems and the first accurate and reliable force measurement systems.

Similarly, during early 1997, FORKARDT purchased the know-how of the BILSING company of Attendorn, Germany. This world-renowned designer and manufacturer of independent chucks had sadly gone into liquidation, however, FORKARDT now offers all the original products again on the world market.

To support the high levels of service which FORKARDT continually strives to improve, significant investments are being made in production facilities, technical and commercial computing systems and employee training. For example, recently in Germany a number of machining centers, grinding machines and other substantial items of manufacturing equipment have been installed. In France, two old operations have been vacated and merged into a single larger, virtually new, combined production and administrative facility.
