Steady rests

• most often installed to support shafts being turned between centres
• patented system of two guide rollers mounted to the centre part and the control curves incorporated on the roller levers inside of the housing gives a considerably improved uniform clamping force
• standard Type L self-centering steady rests are available with a check valve and either rear or side mounted cylinder and manual or central lubrication
• optional: with stroke control, swing-away lever or a combination of both

Steady rests type L

Steady rests are an essential accessory for turning machines during the manufacture of long and/or thin shaft type workpieces. Virtually any CNC or conventional lathe can be fitted with a self-centering FORKARDT Type L steady rest, even when space is severely constrained.
